University and college provide one of the most amazing opportunities for evangelism. However, knowing this can cause a dilemma for students – how do you present the gospel in a culturally relevant way?

We have seen that Alpha for Students is a very effective tool for presenting the gospel to students and is now being used in 39 countries around the world. Over 74% of UK universities and colleges of higher education are using the course to reach out to their friends.

The content of Alpha for Students is exactly the same as any regular Alpha course. However, with some creative ideas courses can be tailored to attract students.

A typical evening starts with a light meal, followed by a talk about the Christian faith. Talks are given by guest speakers, students, or on video. After the talk, guests split up into discussion groups and are encouraged to ask any question they want. During the course, there is a day or weekend away – the focus being the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
